DESCRIPTION:
Our Level 3 Surgical Mask is suitable for surgical procedures, severe trauma or where the healthcare worker is at risk of blood or bodily fluid splashes (eg orthopaedic procedures)
A level 3 Surgical Mask can also be suitable for the public to wear to reduce the risk of potential infection and high risk of fluid contact with those in close proximity.
Our level 3 meets both the Australian Standard & ASTM Standard (USA)
Our level 3 masks are meet the following:
- Splash Resistance - 160mmHg
- PFE - >99% (particulate filtration at 0.1 microns)
- BFE - >99% (bacterial filtration at 0.3 microns)
- Delta P / Breathability < 6.0
- Flammability: Class 1 protection
- Level 3 Ear Loop Surgical Mask is entered in the ARTG (336089)
FLUID RESISTANT FEATURES
Our Level 3 Surgimask has a fluid resistance of 160mmHg consistent with level 3 barrier protection.
Fluid and Splash Resistance is measured by dedicated laboratories around the world. This is in accordance with ASTM F1862-98 & ASTM F1862-00a standard testing methods for resistance of surgical face masks to penetration of synthetic blood at 160mmHg pressures
BACTERIAL FILTRATION EFFICIENCY (BFE)
Surgimask provides the user with a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency of greater than 99% for media that is greater than 3 microns. This provides the user with superior protection from a potential infection
PARTICULATE FILTRATION EFFICIENCY (PFE)
Our level 3 surgical mask has a PFE rating of 99% - the highest standard. PFE is a measure of the filtration of particles of 0.1 microns which includes most viruses. As per the ASTM standards our masks meet the highest standard and surpasses the Australian Standard which does not require a PFE measure.
MASK BREATHABILITY (Delta P)
With this mask being used now by the general public as well as clinicians, the level 3 surgimask provides excellent breathability with a low delta P (<6) ensuring maximum comfort and coolness when in use. Allows extended use of the mask.
Delta P is also conducted by Dedicated Laboratories and is a comfort measure of the mask testing breathability of the mask for the user. The lower the P level the more comfort the mask in while in use. <1.8 is a low level ensuring maximum comfort.
